Websites & web applications
Sometimes a content-managed site isn't the whole answer. When your business runs on a process rather than a brochure, that process usually deserves software built around it.
The kind of thing we build
Not an exhaustive list — but if yours rhymes with one of these, we should talk.
Booking & scheduling
Customers book themselves in, availability comes from whatever system you already use, payment is taken up front. Fewer phone calls, fewer no-shows.
Customer portals
Logins, documents, order history, quotes and invoices in one place. Usually replaces a shared inbox and a spreadsheet that only one person understands.
Quote & price calculators
Turns a phone-and-email pricing process into something a visitor completes at 11pm. Qualifies leads before they reach you.
Integrations
Making your website talk to your CRM, accounting system, stock control or scheduling software, so nobody is retyping data between two screens.
Internal tools
The unglamorous admin screens that save your team hours a week. Rarely pretty, often the highest return on the money.
WordPress & Magento work
Not our speciality, but we've built and maintained plenty. Happy to take on fixes, performance work or a move onto something more suitable.
How we keep bespoke from becoming a money pit
Custom software has a reputation for overrunning. It's usually a scoping failure rather than a coding one.
- Paid discovery first on anything substantial. A short, fixed-price phase that produces a specification you own — take it to another developer if you'd rather.
- Phases, not one big bang. Something useful in your hands early, then built on. You can stop between phases without being left with half a system.
- The boring option wins. we'll use a well-worn library over something fashionable, because you'll still be running this in five years.
- Your data stays yours. Standard databases, documented schemas, exports that work. No proprietary lock-in.
- Written down as it's built. So the person after us — possibly you — can follow it.
Common questions
How do you price bespoke work?
Discovery is a fixed price. After that, each phase is fixed price too, quoted against the specification discovery produced. If you'd rather work on a day rate with a running backlog, that's fine as well — some projects suit it better.
Can you work with our existing systems?
Usually. If it has an API, a database or an export, it can be integrated with. If it has none of those, there are still options, but we'll be honest about how ugly they are.
Who owns the code?
You do, on payment. It lives in your repository. There's no licence, no rental, and nothing preventing you taking it elsewhere.
What happens when something breaks at 9pm?
Depends on your care plan. Standard cover is working hours; extended cover with out-of-hours response is available where the system is genuinely business-critical.
Got a process that needs software around it?
Describe what your team does manually today and we'll tell you honestly whether it's worth automating — and roughly what that would cost.
