Care plans & support
A website is not a thing you buy once. It's a thing that quietly degrades — patches go unapplied, certificates expire, backups stop running — until one day it doesn't work and nobody knows why. A care plan is how that stops being your problem.
Three levels
Keep it safe and standing
The minimum that stops a site quietly rotting.
- Security patching, monthly
- Uptime monitoring
- Off-site backups, tested quarterly
- TLS certificate management
- Email support, 2 working days
Safe, plus time for changes
Everything above, plus hours each month for the things you actually want changing.
- Everything in Essential
- Included hours for changes each month
- Umbraco minor version upgrades
- Performance and Core Web Vitals checks
- Quarterly written health report
- Support, 1 working day
For business-critical sites
Where an hour of downtime costs real money.
- Everything in Standard
- A larger block of included hours
- Out-of-hours emergency response
- Major version upgrade planning
- Named response times in writing
Hosting can be bundled or billed separately — see hosting and DevOps. Plans are monthly rolling; no minimum term, because a plan you'd need a contract to keep you in isn't worth having.
What you're actually paying for
- Things not happening. The value is invisible — no breach, no outage, no morning where the site is gone and the backups turn out to be six months old.
- Somebody who already knows your site. When something does break, there's no three-hour ramp-up before the fixing starts.
- Small changes without a quote each time. The included hours exist so you'll actually ask, rather than letting the site drift out of date because raising a job feels like a hassle.
- An upgrade path. Staying current in small steps is far cheaper than a rescue migration in four years. See upgrades for what that costs when it's left too long.
Care plan questions
Do you cover sites you didn't build?
Yes, after an audit. Sometimes the audit finds something that needs fixing before a plan makes sense, and we'll quote that separately rather than absorbing it quietly.
What counts as a "small change"?
Content updates, new pages, template tweaks, a form field, a plugin swap. If something's big enough to need a proper quote, we'll say so before starting rather than silently eating your month's hours.
Can I cancel?
Any time, with a month's notice. You keep your site, your hosting and your code.
Do you cover WordPress?
Yes. It's not our speciality but the maintenance work is well within scope, and WordPress arguably needs it more than Umbraco does.
Want someone keeping an eye on it?
Send us the URL and we'll tell you what shape it's in — patch level, certificates, performance, whether the backups are real. No charge for looking.
